FUZZSJAKK invites you to the second BEGINNERBLITZ-tournament of the year. This time at Jotunheimen Social Bar – with a little valentines tweak.
WHEN
Saturday, February 14 | 16:00–20:00
FORMAT
8 rounds — 7min + 2sec
RATING
BEGINNERS (0-999)
The tournament is played individually, just like a regular Beginner Blitz.
However, couples are welcome to join and play individually while also competing for a Best Pair prize based on their combined score, which is a 4-course dinner for two (food only) at Trondheims rooftop restaurant, KOMBO.
To keep things fair, pairs competing for the Best Pair prize cannot also win individual prizes.
The event is open to everyone — whether you want to play, watch, or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
A DJ will be playing organic deep house throughout the evening, creating a relaxed, lounge-style vibe. Food and drinks will be available at the bar all night.
Spectators are welcome and do not need a ticket.
You’re free to drop in, play some casual chess, hang out with friends, or just be part of the vibe.
The tournament is played individually, and everyone competes in the same event.
However, prizes are awarded in multiple categories, so you don’t need to win the entire tournament to win something.
We award prizes to:
Overall winner of the tournament
Best Improver (rating 400–699)
Best Rising Star (rating 0–399)
Best female player
If you sign up as a couple, you still play individually — but your combined score also counts in the Best Pair category.
The pair with the highest combined score wins the Best Pair prize.
This means:
Beginners and new players compete on their own level
Lower-rated players have real chances to win prizes
Couples have an extra prize to play for, without changing how the tournament is played
We use our own web app, FUZZBETA, to run our tournaments.
This is where pairings, rounds, and results are handled. The platform is free to use.

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the start.
The tournament is played physically, but managed digitally through FUZZBETA.
We take care of the flow so you can focus on playing — with a DJ, food and drinks at the bar, and a relaxed lounge atmosphere throughout the event.
